TikTok star Khaby Lame seals $975 million deal as Creator Economy hits new high

Khaby Lame, the world’s most-followed TikTok creator, has entered a landmark $975 million corporate deal that highlights how digital influence is being transformed into scalable global businesses

Khaby Lame, the world’s most-followed TikTok creator, has secured one of the largest commercial deals ever recorded in the creator economy, as Hong Kong–based Rich Sparkle Holdings acquired a major stake in his company, Step Distinctive Limited, in a transaction valued at up to $975 million.

The deal grants Rich Sparkle Holdings exclusive global commercial rights to Khaby Lame’s brand for 36 months, marking a pivotal shift from influencer-led endorsements to structured, IP-driven media and commerce businesses.

From Viral Videos to a Near-Billion-Dollar Valuation

Lame rose to global fame through his silent, reaction-based videos that parody overcomplicated life hacks. The format proved universally relatable, allowing his content to cross borders without language barriers, a key factor cited by Rich Sparkle Holdings as central to its investment thesis.

Today, Lame commands more than 160 million followers on TikTok and approximately 360 million followers across all social platforms, placing him ahead of most global celebrities in terms of digital reach. His TikTok following alone narrowly surpasses that of long-time platform leader Charli D’Amelio.

Under the agreement, Rich Sparkle Holdings gains rights spanning TikTok Shop operations, brand endorsements, live-streaming commerce, and product sales driven by short-form video. The company said it believes Lame’s fan-based commercial ecosystem could generate more than $4 billion in annual sales at scale.

Strategic Expansion and AI Monetisation

Beyond traditional influencer marketing, the deal signals an aggressive push into technology-driven monetisation.

Rich Sparkle Holdings plans to develop an AI-powered digital version of Khaby Lame, capable of reproducing his likeness, voice, and mannerisms to produce multilingual content. This approach is designed to multiply output, localise content for different markets, and maintain around-the-clock engagement across time zones.

The company also intends to significantly increase posting frequency and tailor content and pricing models to regional consumer behaviour, with early focus on the United States, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Despite the scale of the transaction, Lame will remain a controlling shareholder in Step Distinctive Limited, retaining strategic influence over his brand and long-term direction.

What the deal means financially

The announcement sparked widespread speculation that Lame had become a billionaire. However, analysts were quick to clarify that the transaction was structured primarily as an all-stock deal, not a direct cash payout.

Importantly, Lame does not own 100 percent of Step Distinctive Limited, meaning the company’s near-billion-dollar valuation does not translate directly into personal net worth.

According to reports, Khaby Lame’s estimated net worth stands at around $80 million, largely driven by brand partnerships, advertising campaigns, and sponsorships across TikTok and Instagram. Industry estimates suggest he can earn up to $750,000 per sponsored post, placing him among the highest-paid digital creators globally.

While he is not yet a billionaire, the valuation attached to his business underscores the growing financial power of creator-led enterprises.

A Broader Shift in the Creator Economy

For investors and brands, the deal reflects a broader evolution in how digital influence is valued. Rather than one-off sponsorships, creators are increasingly being positioned as intellectual property platforms, combining audience data, e-commerce, AI, and global licensing under formal corporate structures.

Khaby Lame’s journey, from filming silent skits on a smartphone to participating in a near-billion-dollar transaction, illustrates how cultural relevance can be converted into durable economic assets.

For global and African audiences alike, the story signals a new phase in digital entrepreneurship, one where attention, when professionally structured and globally scaled, becomes a powerful engine for long-term wealth creation.
